The Challenge

Pace Group recently completed a fitout for Bundaberg Regional Council’s office relocation. Their new office covered 4000m2 across 3 levels. The project provided an exciting challenge, a typical government organisation structure generally have a traditional office design to suit, Bundaberg Regional Council were instead looking to move towards an open plan office layout. Pace Group collaborated with IQ Constructions and TO Architect to bring this traditional government organisation a breath of fresh air with a contemporary office design while still maintaining small elements of traditional work zones.

Furniture That Fits

Pace Group were tasked with providing custom workstations designed to suit the client’s specifications. The custom workstations were paired with demountable partitions designed to break up the space into working zones and transition from a traditional working environment to a more collaborative and open plan workspace. The new fitout encompassed office space, executive areas, boardrooms &, meeting rooms, collaborative areas and breakout spaces.

The project consisted of 150 workstations, task chairs and monitor arms, as well as meeting tables, meeting chairs, furniture for breakout areas, soft seating, whiteboards and demountable partitioning. Bringing life into the office space using bright colour in the partitioning to match the corporate colours. The overall dollar value of all the office furniture items totaled $800,000, with the overall timeframe of the fitout being 6 weeks.
